That’s definitely not new. Comment spam has existed as long as comments have.
Stealing content is also as old as the internet. It would make sense they would use their own music if that’s what they were selling. People that sell affiliate links to stuff paste their logo and domain on the lower or upper part of stolen reels.
I don’t discover music on Youtube so I can’t speak to it’s rise in popularity but things like this get adopted widely when it’s proven to work.


If I’m reading DW correctly, the real switft OS has been around since 2011, which I don’t think predates HML but is still getting up there in age.

Blocking the porn and impotently hostile makes it quite the chill platform.
Both YT music and Tidal offer a trial period, you could listen to some examples yourself since you’re the only person that can determine if the differences in sound quality are anything that you notice or care about.

I actually LOLed at “MUSIC LEGEND”.
My wife loves them but the 31$ pricetag for lobster on a hotdog bun boggles my mind. The last time I bought two for her, I accidentally laughed out loud when the tip screen popped up for my 62$ bill.

Thanks for your thoughts, tuckerm. I didn’t create it as an authority on the matter but rather as someone that has gotten very worried about how hard it is to get info that isn’t blended in a corporate blender.
My most recent example was realizing over 3/4 of my regular forums are owned by verticalscope. The sweeping changes across all the sites were rubbing me the wrong way. Trying to find active forums that hadn’t sold to them has proven next to impossible, however.
Which led to my curiosity; could we groupthink a useful database of sites and resources that hadn’t yet been absorbed by one of these conglomerates?
I’ve started work on a sister site that I hope to use to make keeping track of solutions easier if my attention span permits.
