Summary

The Trump administration fired Vice Adm. Shoshana Chatfield, the only woman on NATO’s military committee, reportedly due to past statements supporting diversity.

Chatfield, a decorated Navy pilot and Afghanistan veteran, appeared on a conservative “woke” watchlist targeting senior military officials who promoted DEI.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, leading the anti-DEI campaign, made the call, though it’s unclear if Trump directly ordered it.

Chatfield is the third top female officer dismissed under Trump. Critics warned the firings undermine military leadership and damage U.S. alliances.

Hegseth doesn’t think women should be in the military. The DUI-hire is gradually working on it - I think we will at least see a return to a ban on serving in combat roles within a year or so.

Funnily enough - as a transgender man, I am signed up for the Selective Service (they make you do it for FAFSA - get flagged if you put down male anywhere.) I’ve heard that I was supposed to get some sort of letter disqualifying me, but I just got the regular card. Guess I could be marching next to y’all in WW3.

We haven’t had enough enlistment to fill our military needs in decades. We have as many hired contractors as enlisted. The contractors are majority non US citizens.

We’ve been avoiding a draft because it would cause major resistance to our unnecessary military activities that can currently be pushed to the back of most people’s minds.

        https://www.csis.org/analysis/us-military-forces-fy-2021-space-sof-civilians-and-contractors

Operational contractors continue to play a vital role in CENTCOM, holding a 2.8 to 1 ratio of contractors to military (up from 1.7 to 1 last year) as military forces exit Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan while contractors stay behind.

The US military is not draft friendly. Far too much of our doctrine is built around “skilled” combat (e.g. maneuver warfare) and our superiority comes from technology which has a high cost per soldier (the NVGs that Scumbag Steve lost cost more than it would to rush him through boot camp…) and requires maintenance. And, if we move forward with the XM7, that means fewer bullets per soldier which means a greater need to actually aim (and be indoctrinated so that they will aim at the brown person rather than fire over their heads).

Obviously we can do a massive doctrine change. But “senior military” will gladly support efforts that remove competition so that they can get promoted into a woman’s place. They won’t support efforts that will make them look incompetent when (and it is “when”…) we actually use the military… or that will impact all those “totally friendly” gifts and vacations they get from the companies building this gear.

In the event of a land war against Canada? All bets are off and you can be damned sure there will be “patriotic” efforts for “new recruits” to buy their own AR-15s from Walmart before reporting to the trenches. But that will happen regardless of whether the pesky women and gays and brown people have been cleansed from the military first.

Everyone (rightfully) shat on how ill equipped the russian military was outside of their “elites”. And… there is a reason for that. You don’t give someone off the street optics that cost a down payment or two on their pickup truck. Partially because they will lose (or sell) it. Mostly because they won’t know how to use it. WW2/Vietnam era boot camp was basically “This is a gun. Point this end at the <ethnic slur>. Pull the trigger a few times to keep their heads down while someone competent does the rest”.

Small point of correction there - Walmart doesn’t sell AR-15s or any other similar semi-auto rifle, nor do they sell handguns. They pared back gun offerings in the last decade to only basic hunting stuff like shotguns, bolt-action rifles. They don’t even sell handgun ammo or “assault rifle” ammo now.

The specialty of the US military has always been logistics AFAIK. They’ll traditionally endlessly throw bodies and money at maintaining supply lines to uphold their own morale and wait for their enemy to surrender. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_cream_barge

Not sure how well that’ll work in the face of modern warfare, drones and sabotage seem more effective.

drones and sabotage seem more effective

The drones need to be launched, and saboteurs deployed, near their targets. That means logistics.

Fucking up supply chains with brainless tariffs will massively damage logistics.

When there is a war, HitlerPig will definitely have a draft, if for no other reason that he will think its amusing to watch people get pissed off about it. At his core, he is a Troll.

Nothing is more evil than a draft, when the government literally enslaves young men to be forced to kill or be kill.

And it will be young men, these Neanderthals will want the young girls to stay behind so the Sociopathic Oligarchs have the pick of the tenderonis without the competiton of young men. Skum has all the money in the world, and he still can’t find a loving partner, even if he wants to buy one. The only way hes been able to have DNA Storage Units/ Human Shields, is by renting wombs. Maybe if we kill off all the young men under 30 years old, he can find a desperate young woman to be his concubine.

I will state this unequivocally: My son will NEVER take part in any MAGA war. At least, not on their side.

And if HitlerPig decides to skip the concept of a draft system, and resorts to the Russian style of draft, and have press gangs driving around in trucks, literally snatching men off the streets, and they get my son (or they ship him off to the new Guantanamo Concentration Camp), I will have nothing left to lose, and I will become a VERY dangerous man indeed.

The general forces of the military are minorities and females now. Sure the top brass can control smaller special operations teams to their whims. But I doubt the general forces will turn on the people of the country. Think Soviets trying to stop the independence during the early 90’s. The soldiers just didn’t listen.

A lot of them are in because it can offer an escape from poverty, and training involves hammering home that they have to just follow orders. They’re going to go along like everyone else because defying orders is a big personal risk for people who are not in a position to just lose everything.

I don’t know if you know this. But a lot of the HIGH skilled Military are LGBTQ+. I lived next to three installations. I have friends in many different levels of intelligence and SF. There are many who would refuse an illegal order. They can try and DEI these people out. But it would be impossible in some departments.

I live on an island covered in military bases and have been on them both locally and elsewhere for various reasons. It’s not all MAGA, but it’s also not an environment of woke resistors. Those high skilled people ready to refuse are the exception, not the norm, and they’re not the people a declaration of martial law would rely on.

A martial law order isn’t going to look like “go shoot some hippies”, it’s going to be seizing and holding important infrastructure, setting up checkpoints, and enforcing a curfew. That stuff can all be military-speak formatted to look like just perfectly fine orders under exigent circumstances. If violence happens it will be plausibly framed as defending those “legitimate” orders, and it will likely be performed by people who are loyalists. The rest will just be there to support and protect them.

This is something more people need to understand. Military orders don’t come down as “invade that city and kill everyone”. They are a lot more specific and worded in such a way that they are almost mundane. This is by design.

One thing we used to have going for us was that most of the top brass hated Trump. They thought he was not only stupid, but also a threat to national security. That’s why Tuberville stalled all those appointments and promotions, and it’s why they are now shitcanning so many top leaders and replacing them with unqualified goons.

By replacing all the experienced, knowledgeable people with blind loyalists, they have given the Resistance the gift of competence. When the revolution comes, the resistance will have intelligent, competent, experienced people to lead them against the idiotic MAGA Nazis.

In addition, there are thousands of good people still working there, who are proud of their work with the government, and hate what has happened to their leadership, their colleagues, and their agencies. Those people will be ripe for recruitment as moles, leaks, sabotage, etc., while the MAGA Nazis will only have ignorant dolts to count on.

It won’t matter if they have the big weapons, if the people they are counting on to operate them turn them against the government, or destroy them in advance.

Jesus fucking Christ. America during ww2 would have lost badly if this type of shit was going on back then. From day 1 all countries on the allied side mass employed women in roles previously held exclusively by men.

Look up the WASPs and the WAVES during ww2. Not to mention the sheer amount of women working in manufacturing and transport and other stuff. Rosey the riveter was real. Marlin Monroe, one of the sexiest women of all time was one such gal during the war.

And don’t get me started on munitions plants. Women were employed in manufacturing high explosives from day 1 (there are photographs from the 1890s showing women mixing nitroglycerin and diatomaceous earth to make dynamite, and the manufacture of blasting caps, the stuff using the most sensitive explosives, was the sole domain of women for a long time). WW2 Orientation films from Canada show this.

That woman EARNED her position. She is not DEI. But Pete Hegseth IS DEI.
