In 2009, another study was published by the American Journal of Forensic Medicine and Pathology. The study ran for 15 years and it has concluded that pit bulls, German Shepherds, and Rottweilers are among the most common breeds that cause fatal dog attacks in Kentucky State.

In 2011, the Annals of Surgery published a study, which concluded that Pitbull attacks lead to more expensive hospital bills, higher risk of death, and higher morbidity rates compared to other breeds of dogs.

Last year the son of a good friend, with only 5 years, was attacked and murdered by the grandfather dog that knew him his entire life, he was playing with his sister and the dog… can you guess the breed? Yep, thats right. Fuck those dogs
You’re dogs are cute, But I’m sticking with the numbers on this one. I don’t think any pits living right now should be put down, but I strongly believe we should stop breeding them entirely.
The vast majority of pitbull owners are responsible and aware of the dangers that originally bred for fighting dogs will always have.
But for every 10 good owners, there is 1 ignorant, dysfunction, asshole who doesn’t control their dog and let’s them get aggressive or doesn’t correct their instincts for prey seeking behavior.
Thats when children get mauled, and small dogs die.
I don’t think pitbulls should be banned, but I do think that owners who do not take care of them or raise a traumatized fighting dog, should be charged as if they had been recklessly shooting a gun and hurt someone. Tldr Pitbulls, when mishandled, become deadly weapons. Owners of violent dogs should be treated as harshly as possible. There’s no excuse.

A pit bull is any combination of terrier and bully with barrel body and short muzzle.
You can’t ever be rid of the “breed”, they are mutts. “They” don’t possess magical locking jaws or anything else exceptional.
I’ll acknowledge that this particular breed may be responsible for the most aggressive dog attacks, but I’d also assume there’s a correlation between aggression in dogs and the environment they’re brought up in.
It’s the nature vs nurture debate but for K9s. Both are probably legitimate factors. But I’d argue, give a pit bull a loving home and good training - something all dogs deserve - and they’ll never hurt a soul.
Problem is, idiots with no respect for animals tend to seek out “tough” dog breeds and torture them until they’re ready too attack anyone and everyone. Fuck people. People=Shit.
Statistics by definition is presenting empirical data and that’s what most people think of when they hear statistics. Most scientists studying statistics actually spend much more of their time developing and studying methods of data collection rather than crunching numbers. The reason for this is you cannot have meaning statistics if the data set is not accurate. And I love you all and your experiences matter but they bear no scientific weight.
4 out of 5 dentists agree that every time you see a static it’s complete and total bullshit. Flawed data collection leads to flawed results which leads to flawed conclusions. But people sure do get excited when numbers validate their biases.
