This would make it so I was living in Saskatchewan, which is intolerable since mocking people from Saskatchewan is very important to me.

The best joke I heard, I was talking about Saskatchewan and a guy said, “Saskatchewan?” and literally threw a pack of cigarettes on the ground and continued, “Stand on that and you can watch your dog run away for 3 days.” Way better version than sitting on your front porch.

Oh please… Sure you get Vegas but you’re stuck with Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska and both Dakotas! Plus a shitload of Mormons and desert. Take 'em and welcome. But I suggest you label them all “immigrants” and don’t allow them to vote.

So, if its borders are straight lines in this projection, are they actually concave curves?

Edit: convex for the northern border.

They follow lines of latitude and longitude so straight lines on a curved surface. It’s slightly untrue on the Eastern border that looks like a jagged edge due to the dominion land survey. But it was meant to be straight.

I suspected/assumed they were ‘true’ to the lines of latitude and longitude.

The amusing projection in green makes it obvious that the map projection is taking some liberties ;-)

No they clearly don’t. It spans about two longitude lines at the bottom and three at the top

I know the southern border is the 49th parallel and the northern border is the 60th. I’d have to look up the meridians.

Eta: the Western border is the 110th meridian. The Eastern one is fucked up because of the Dominion Land Survey.

Eta2: the Eastern border is ~102nd meridian.
