yup, this funny. huge fan. what’s even queter than babybel? apparently me, according to the scale. i do sneeze so quietly that i rarely get a “bless you” for it. oh well.

    while it could reasonably be assumed that the prefix baby- would simply be in place of micro- (10-6) in the SI unit prefixes, we find it so much cuter to assume it follows in the order of top to bottom being divisions of ten (i.e. 10-4).

    this way those of us who inject estrogen can specify like 8 babyliters of estradiol or the like, much more appetizing than 0.8 milliliters which feels WAY too overly serious.

    babybel were created in france, and the lowercase b is not used much by anything in isolation (uppercase B is, by the bel!) so the SI really has no excuses for not making this a part of the standard. thank you for your contributions maria ⌃w⌃
