They don’t. The Lucifer rebellion against god is from Paradise Lost by John Milton (1667) and is not mythology or in any texts. Pure fiction, pretty amazing at that, but definitely doesn’t have the same origin as the angels.
The rebellion is from paradise lost, not in any religious text I thought? I’m no expert.
Right next to TempleOS
Probably not a serious answer, but as a tangent, iirc St. Thomas Aquinas believed that angels were not actual beings or messengers and didn’t posses a soul. They are direct extensions of god, as we would have arms and legs as extensions or apendages, angels are the “arms and legs” of god.
Edit: because some people have shown interest, the idea that angels at some point rebelled against god and Lucifer became their leader is from a 1667 poem called Paradise Lost by John Milton.
Its an amazing work of fiction that ties in to some already existing mythos at the time (like the hierarchy of angels, from cherubs to seraphim) but it has nothing to do with what’s in religious texts, either Jewish, Christian or Muslim.

Unpopular Opinion@lemmy.world•I don't care about the Epstein Files.English
241·5 days agoThis isnt just an unpopular opinion, this is an uneducated, ignorant, dangerous and simply idiotic point of view that would change if you had spent more than 2 seconds thinking about this other than consuming garbage media.
Have you heard anybody propose a law, a task force, even a blue ribbon commission to find out how this happened or make sure nobody does this again? Are their any more resources for victims because of this?
Where do you think the files came from? Someone just anonymously left them on the doj’s/fbi’s doorstep?
Also what the fuck. Just because our government or elite get away with something doesn’t mean its not wrong and we shouldn’t be outraged by it.
This opinion is garbage complacency. Get Out.

7·19 days agoA lot of what the other comments have said is right, but also add that to on top of all the layoffs theyve had and they keep telling their devs to double their efforts. Its been in so many meetings that at this point a single engineer should be able to do the work of the whole company…
the shareholders keep demanding doubling pace from their engineers but they just wont listen smh
They should just fire all the engineers already theyre clearly slacking off /s
Did you ever notice how in the Bible, when ever God needed to punish someone, or make an example, or whenever God needed a killing, He sent an angel? Did you ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? A whole existence spent praising your God, but always with one wing dipped in blood. Would you ever really want to see an angel? News@lemmy.world•US conducts 17th lethal strike against alleged drug boat
1·1 month agoThats not at all what I said though? I said that whoever is crossing that invisible line is risking their lives and they probably know it. And if that is the case and people have to cross that line to go fish and then that warship is just randomly picking off boats then yes it is absolutely terrorism.

News@lemmy.world•US conducts 17th lethal strike against alleged drug boat
11·2 months agoMy possibly incorrect assumption is that those boats that got hit were the only ones going that far away. If there are more and these are the only ones randomly getting hit then yeah that’s just terrorism.

News@lemmy.world•US conducts 17th lethal strike against alleged drug boat
2·2 months agoI guess I assumed they were the only ones going out that far and taking the risk. But its more likely just the ones that looked more “suspicious” to them with no real positive identification that they are doing anything wrong.

News@lemmy.world•US conducts 17th lethal strike against alleged drug boat
44·2 months agoRight, but the people going out must know the risk they are taking at this point right? What is so important that they’re risking their lives with this? None of it adds up for me.
Edit: going out and taking that risk screams doing it under duress. But then there would be evidence right?

News@lemmy.world•US conducts 17th lethal strike against alleged drug boat
91·2 months agoOK, for real though, why is this happening? Is it all around Venezuela? Or is it just random boats around central America?
If it’s just Venezuela, then surely these people that are “fishing” know there’s a big ass warship shooting them out of the water if they stray too far from the coast. (I say it in quotes because it just doesn’t add up to me.)
None of this makes sense to me.
If they are carrying drugs, surely there’s leftover debris that can prove it, that can be retrieved after the fact.
Also yeah, whatever the reason, this is not the way to carry out an operation like this. Immobilize the vehicle, stop them and take them to interpol or whatever maritime authority there is on international waters.

I’m not super familar with the Quran, but I wouldn’t say Iblis is the same entity as Lucifer. I think Iblis is even less independant than Lucifer in that aspect, they are a tool that god uses to teach about evil.
