- Apple also collects a massive amount of data on their users. But thats ok apparently as long as they just say “trust me bro”.

I tried to set up Curve on my pixel 7 with graphene os and it wouldnt let me create an account. After filling in my contact details the app just said “We are unable to verify your identity” even though it never even asked me to show ID (I never reached that screen).
When i emailed Curve customer support (which is terrible btw, theres about 2 months between replies) they just said things like “We cannot offer you an account at this time” and “We were unable to verify your identity” and “We are unable to disclose the reason for denial for security reasons”.
I’m not sure if graphene os had something to do with it.
So just in case if you want to set up Curve maybe create the account first on a non-graphene phone, then log into the app on graphene after the account is already created.

“I have nothing to hide” is such a dumb argument.
Are you always going to have nothing to hide?
Because it’ll be too late to start caring about privacy when you do.

I stepped away from Proton as soon as they started pushing more than just mail and VPN and started bombarding me with prompts to subscribe to one of their plans.
I dont appreciate things like my protonmail app icon being changed to say “Black Friday” on it thank you very much.

WG Tunnel is a really useful wireguard client I’ve been using for a while.
I use it to automatically enable a wireguard tunnel to my home network as soon as i leave my home WiFi. And I can assign different wireguard configs to different wifi networks when im out and about where the default wireguard config might be blocked, and it will switch between them automatically.
It has loads of other useful features too.

Also Stratum which is another open source authenticator app.
I like it because it has a Wear OS companion app.

It’s possible that, when the ISP revokes the public address and assigns a new one, the DNS record isn’t updated immediately and still points to the old address. Then every new request would be sent to the old, invalid address.
I’ve got it set up on my OPNSense firewall
OPNsense has ddclient built in which solves this problem as well.

And i bet you’re in a completely different part of the world from me.
I went to school in the south west of Ireland in the 90s where internet access was even more of a myth than that rib surgery rumour and i still heard about it.

I always thought it was one of those made up school rumours that every kid in every corner of the world heard about somehow.
Like that one about Marilyn Manson getting his lower ribs surgically removed.
The only VPN I use is:
Wireguard and OpenVPN to connect to my home network.
AirVPN for a server that I may or may not have on my home network that may or may not be sailing the high seas (allegedly).

The fact it has been attempted and rejected multiple times and has to be proposed under different guises supports the idea that the EU is not actually friendly to the idea of backdoors to encryption, and, as you just pointed it out, it is the meddling of lobbyists and nationalists that keeps the proposal coming back.

Europe… the guys that want backdoors into all encrypted communication
Europe… the guys who rejected a proposal to put back doors into all encrypted communication.

Ive only ever used Vortex and it works great for me, even on the steam deck.
I used ProtonUpQT (its on the flatpak store) to install SteamTinkerLaunch.
For the game you want to run, you set the compatibility tool to SteamTinkerLaunch (same menu you would use to select the proton version).
Then in your steam library you create a category called Vortex and add whatever games you want running vortex to it.
Then when you launch the game you get a SteamTinkerLaunch menu where you can change loads of settings and access Vortex Mod Manager.
Ive played Fallout 4 (should be similar situation to Skyrim) like this since the Steam Deck came out and the only issue i came across is when i had a game on the SD card Vortex couldnt find the game location so i had to create some symlinks.
This method also worked for me when playing Starfield.
You can install mods by copying the Nexus mods link into Vortex and they also auto update.

Not much good if they only have your laptop and not you.
Which VPN would you like to be shilled?
- Ask for a paper menu
- Walk the fuck out
check out the menu items of a local restaurant before going there
How are they going to walk out or ask for a paper menu if they aren’t there? 🤔
“I don’t use them and I dont trust companies that do mass sponsorship of youtube channels”
“tHaTs GuErIlLa MaRkEtInG!!”
