Same. Too little time and so much to do
Major outlets did do some previously. Unfortunately, look at the active user count of Mastodon vs other social media outlets.
These companies want to reach the most people as possible. Theres also an AskLemmy about barriers to adoption of the general public unfortunately that was answered quite well :/
Hmm you have a good point for me specifically…
For some people, their insurance can also lock them into which pharmacy is contracted. But I don’t have this issue.
I have those two because its the most convenient for me locally. Local pharmacies matter because if a non maintenance Rx is needed, you need to have it sent there. An Rx delivery service like Optum or Express Scripts won’t work well for non maintenance Rx (takes days for delivery). BTW, I find Walgreens the same as CVS in business practices, salaries/care to pharmacists, etc (source: pharm friends).
There are pharmacies in like grocery stores and the like a bit further away from me but their selection is limited and if you need a medication it may take time for it to arrive at their location.
The true local pharmacies are very few…and I live in the bay area. There are 4 that I know of. Imagine living outside of CA/San Fran area.
So… Yes, I can change to one of those “true” local pharmacies but they are significantly out of the way. I don’t want to utilize a target or Safeway pharmacy for reasons listed above. Something for me to think about though because I typically support businesses with my money.
Honestly, my top advice is to read what you enjoy or what you want to. That’s how best to get into reading. If you don’t like or enjoy reading a book, drop it. I saw you have six books youre currently reading. Do you even like them?!? Maybe find one that really absorbs you and go from there? If standard text does not grab you, what about graphic novels like Maus? You listen to podcasts. What about audiobooks? Any with a good narration?
I read when I feel like it (physical and ebooks), audiobooks during car rides if the narration is good. If I am not in the mood to read, I don’t?
Fiction is my favorite. Sci Fi, wholesome books (cozy reads), etc. However, I would occasionally mix in a memoir or a nonfiction like you said because I also felt some pressure to want to learn something
I’m in my early 30s. I got burnt out of my job during the pandemic. Took some medical leave due to new depression, stress and other effects on myself. Took time and started reading again. Picked up Murderbot Diaries as one of my first books and Anxious People by Fredrik Backman… Absolute love.
If I don’t like a book, I drop it. I added audiobooks to my reading and it increased number of books “read”
If you read, even if its 1 page a day, you are a reader! Please do not discount yourself!!
Same… It was either Rite Aid or CVS for me… And unfortunately I find Rite Aid even worse
Aetna is absolutely terrible insurance BTW. Its so hard to get them to authorize any healthcare service, they aren’t contracted with many facilities in CA, etc. All denials or delays getting them to approve care Americans need
Love it though admittedly I haven’t utilize much of the color e-ink feature. Primarily book covers right now and highlights (btw, contrary to what someone already responded Kobo has yellow, blue, green and pink highlights). The book covers look great in color but not as sharp as black and white. I’m hoping to read the Sandman soon though and other graphic novels from my library is why I got it (and it was a free upgrade for me).
But I love both my Kobos and have no complaints. Theyre so customizable and easy to use.
Kobo Libra H20 owner here too then Kobo Colour!! Love both! My husband upgraded me for free because he worked with Kobo
Unless he is actively suicidal this is not the answer and can make things worse
Concur with you… And I live in CA where we do vote Democrat. While I would like to disagree, even Democrats I know veer away from politicians viewed as “too progressive”. They fear that true progressive agendas would alienate others within politics and result in nothing getting accomplished. For example, some love the idea of Bernie but believe hes too idealistic, “wishy washy” and that his plans are too. Too much for others within Congress to get on board and ally on the goals. If this is already coming from some Democrats in CA, I’m not surprised by swing states…
I 100% believe you. We may not like the reality but its there.
Nurse manager. I browse when I wake and during dinner. Sometimes during work breaks. I don’t really post. Mostly comment. Doesn’t take long to comment
Maybe he can live on his own as he may still be independent with other activities of daily living like cooking, walking to the bathroom, be able to put on clothes, etc.
Not being able to drive is one thing but maybe there are food delivery services, Uber/Lyft/Taxis and other non medical transportation, and for medical emergencies Life Alert, Ambulances.
Just saying there is a lot we do not know.
Dungeon Crawler Carl 4, The Gate of the Feral Gods by Matthew Dinniman. Its just good fun and the sound effects are amazing. Though I think Carl sounds too old for a 27 year old.
It has also been a good break after Pet Sematary by Stephen King.
In addition to all the above, I found a weighed blanket really helped me. Make sure your room is very dark, pitch black. If it is not, upgrade your blinds or a sleep mask. I got one that’s simple and cotton and it works wonders.
Now its winter I also have a heated blanket.
Mold because I’m American
I’m really scared for future elections when the GOP has a candidate that is actually charismatic or articulate…
I went without Prime for >1 year. I just online shopped directly from manufacturer if I can and paid shipping if free shipping not available. I minimized use of amazon only if I had $35 in my cart for the free shipping.
However, I know I am privileged enough to do so.
I honestly would encourage everyone not to have Prime though. Its like what $150+ now for a year? Save that money and wait until your cart is $35. If you cannot wait, you can pay for shipping (assuming $7) x20+ times before you make up price of that $150 for Prime.
Agree with this. Stardew Valley and many games can be found on mobile and quite popular with the gaming community. I am not sure as a beginner player I would start off with Stardew Valley as there are a lot of mechanics? Would recommend more of the below as there are not as many things to figure out:
High recommendations for Vampire Survivors. There is a demo with that link as well as direct app access.
Additionally, Animal Crossing Pocket Camp for $20 come December is great intro. Super relaxing game.
100% recommend Slay the Spire as well.
For games without a mobile option, I feel like Portal 1 and Portal 2 are must plays for anyone. And are not too graphically intense for any computer. Its a puzzle game. You run and jump into portals to figure out the puzzles. I wish I could play them again for the first time. All the above are amazing games. Wishing you the best on your journey!
P.S. if you have a friend to game with, It Takes Two is a pleasant experience.
