Yes, anyone reasonable knew that this would lead to higher costs. Americans are expensive to employ. The point of the tariff package is to bring back manufacturing and production to the USA. Stop importing so much crap from China and other places, and things will balance out. That increase in costs should be compensated for by jobs for American citizens across all sectors if people respect the purpose of the tariffs - to disincentivize imports whenever and however possible.

Quite the opposite. The death of Mozilla Corp will drive the community to greater heights. I expect to see Floorp, Librefox, and even Basilisk/Pale Moon having a voice in the conversation of post-MozCo Firefox.

At the time it released, 99% of my software was DOS-based, and in fact I had 1 game that I distinctly remember (Sonic CD) which only ran on Win9x, and could not run on any version of NT. I had no problems with Me, and kept a copy of it on my main PC until XP SP2.

Win10 is not that bad. And Me was never as bad as Vista or (especially) 8. Also, Linux is not a linear curve, it’s stepped.

Honestly, I’d love to see Point 2 come into a real format. The other stuff is a hard no-go, but I think it would be interesting to see a game where being outmatched doesn’t mean an automatic loss of points. I think the meta would self-stabilize into a rough version of the Elo system.

This reads like you and your mother have had a longstanding negative relationship. I don’t believe you or she are in the right place to discuss the extent of your disagreement or the source of it, based on what I’m reading here. Until you are, I think it might be healthier for both of you to walk away for a few years. I don’t know her, so I don’t know if she’s an objectively bad person. What she said, and the actions you’ve described, sound a lot like someone who doesn’t know how to consciously process the emotions around having someone they should love making choices that they find morally reprehensible.

So I don’t know if she’s a bad person. I can tell that the relationship you have with her is bad, and you should focus on your happiness and coping mechanisms.

I’ll put my hand up and say that I will wish I worked harder. My job is simple and i work remote. If I was willing to work harder, I could either move up in the company or move to a competitor. That would get me more money. More money would help me to pay rent on a nicer place to live. And then with the new nice place, I could get the rest of my head in order. So I will absolutely go to my doom wishing I worked harder, put in more hours, and showed a high degree of dedication.
