Just found out they addressed this problem in a new version with federated communities.

Aren’t the majority of communities federated? I’m confused at what update you saw that “addressed” something that has always been a thing ever since Lemmy was created.

if a post is a link to a news article then it will list the comment sections for all cross posts under one post.

This is such an underrated feature of PieFed, and it solves OP’s problem entirely.

I think the better question is to ask who isn’t a Reddit refugee. As in, who here never had a Reddit account and just showed up on Lemmy one day?

In addition, users will stop making “I’ve donated $X to this project!” posts on Reddit for karma. Just donate and STFU. I donate to hospitals yearly but you don’t see me going onto their Facebook page to tell everybody how much I donated.

What’s wrong with Docker? Spinning up KitchenOwl was as easy as just copying and pasting the Docker Compose file.

If you find yourself miserable at a party, then don’t fucking go to it. If it’s organized by your company and you were forced to attend, then once again that’s not Christmas’ fault. Ask yourselves these questions:

1. Were you forced to attend (e.g. takes place during work hours)? If yes, then blame the corporate culture.
2. Does it take place after work hours? If yes, then why are you attending it? If your answer is because of pressure from your bosses and/or you fear not attending means you’ll suffer professionally, then it’s the corporate culture’s fault.

I don’t know enough about code to verify things myself. And I assume this applies for a lot of us here. So I just pray that nothing’s fucked in the distribution chain.

Is there a difference between using Tailscale and Wireguard? I already have a Wireguard setup and want to know what benefits it has over Wireguard.

Between omnitools and vert, which one do you recommend? I think the former has more features, but there must be a reason why you recommended vert as well.

EDIT: On closer inspection, it looks like omnitools has multiple tools (including conversion), and vert focuses on conversion. I focused way too much on the conversion features that the other tools went over my head.
