I’m under the impression that these guys are driven workaholics. They just can’t stop. Working is their hobby and playtime. They just can’t sit still if there’s something that can be done.
They have to squeeze out everything there is to squeeze. And if there’s something -like a law- that’s preventing them from doing that they’ll fight it with every fiber of their body.
There are a number of option of how to monetize the platform.
You could- paywall nfsw subs as suggested in the other comments
- limit the number of subs a free account can access in one day
- limit the number of comments a free account can post daily
- add some sort of paid tag for everyone to see
I’m sure there are a lot of other ways that make reddit inconvenient for free accounts.
