I bought a house that was a foreclosure. I think they took what they felt they owned. That included a sink, all the smoke detectors, all the door knobs, all the appliances. It was strange.

Who’s watching ads and clicking on them…

My wife works in advertising. Online ads are about building brand recognition. It’s affecting it’s primary goal by having you see the advertisement. Clicking on the ad is another metric, but it’s not necessarily the goal, more of icing on the cake.

The companies/govt agencies have huge budgets to get people to see their message. The big reason the house brand of whatever at the store is 10% cheaper is that brand doesn’t advertise. You the consumer are paying for advertising by buying products that are advertised.

There is no way Trump would ever pick a non white person, nor would he pick a woman, well unless she was hot and he would use the promise of being VP to sleep with her.

In the good parts of town, they look nicer. In the poor parts of town they’re legit worse than that.

Fwiw, I’ll pay the extra dollar per shopping cart for the superior look of a target. Target is generally cleaner and crisper looking. As always there are exceptions to that rule.

My search results keep wanting me to go to Reddit. I’m trying to avoid it, but it keeps calling.

I’m not scrolling there like I did before the “Spez killed the 3rd party app migration”. I miss the level of engagement and ease of finding communities. Lemmy is decent, but the post volume is lacking. If I scroll new now, and again 12 hours later, there’s not much new stuff before I see the stuff from last time.

100%. We as a society create laws. There is no point in making these laws if there is no one to enforce them. Further more, most Americans want police to show up when they dial 911. Defunding the police isn’t going to happen.

What can happen, mandate body camera usage. Have an independent auditor review the footage. Prosecute the crimes discovered on the body cam footage. Terminate the police who do not use the mandated body cameras.

No one will vote 3rd party. If you didn’t learn that lesson in 2020, I guess you never will.

Database stuff. I write SQL for a living. Data analyst or report writer would be the generic entry level job titles.

I went back to college at 30. That set me up for a career I actually enjoyed and a wage that was double the dead end job I had at the time.
