Theres no problem with susan. C.S. Lewis was using narnia as a very christian metaphor, for… come to think of it, lots of things. Included in that metaphor was a Peter Pan esque commentary of childhood. Susan grew up too fast. Thats it. Flawed as it may be, thats the bit. Misogynistic as is seems on reflection, i dont think it was intended that way.

Boys never grow up. If you have full grown man in your life, you already know this.

If you dont, you are missing out. Want to have a child without actually having a child? Make guy friends. Everything will make sense after that.

  • Ave Maria is “classical music” for people that cant pronounce Tchaikovsky. Pavarotti has a great rendition, but hell, Celine Dion did one too. Its not that special.

Franz Schubert just set an excerpt of a Sir Walter Scott poem to music for christs sake! Why does it exist on such a pedestal?

All im saying is that ave maria is like trump. It holds a position of esteem for people that know nothing about art or success or value. It is the golden toilet set inside a cookie cutter McMansion in the middle of Frisco Texas.

Sure, you can impress your neighbors with it, but the bank is reposessing that house and toilet along with your new wake boat next week too. Who are you really impressing?

  • Well thats why i ask. You can say lucky us, but at this point in the election, im not so sure.

Between the vitriol and retoric and conspiracy theories weve already seen, the implication of violence and absolute craziness would, without question be enough for me to not hope for anything like that.

But im asking about how the voting public would poll. Would vance get a martyr boost from their dear dead leader, or would an immediately apathetic undecided vote rise up, one that was origionally locked into the trump/vamce ticket. Would it just vanish overnight? I doubt it, but vance remains an amazingly unpopular vp pick. Without trump, where is his ceiling?

  • In my experience, this is one of the devices that only creates more confusion in what already is a high stress environement. I get what you are saying, but i doubt there is a single pilot under the age of 60 that would ever use this device willingly. The heirarchy anymore is the in suite avionics, then secondary instruments, then Ipad, then, asking for vectors.

Its like an abacus. Theres just very little use for it anymore. And maintaining proficiency is only for the test.

  • Yes you are. The insurance company takes money from healthy people, scoops some off the top for themselves, and then distributes the rest to pay for grandmas hip replacement.

Unless you use the same or more than what you paid into insurance, you are subsidizing someone elses healthcare.

  • Dude, its called context. The usage implied was very clear.

And my bad, i guess i left out the little “1” at the start that says my definition was the primary usage to support my argument, but whatever… it seemed obvious.

Despite that, even by your narrower definition, trump still has charisma. just not the kind that works on you. People can be likable and have a magnetic personality and whatever else, and you can still despise them. They would still be called charismatic. The people waving his signs, attending his rallys, and wearing his red hats would certainly say he is likable and has a magnetic personality. Are they wrong? No. The sheer number of his followers prove he has charisma. Clap yourself on the back for not falling for that particular style of charisma if you want, but dont deny it exists.
