Ah yes I remember “three guys one hammer” which was a video of three Ukrainian serial killers stabbing a guy in the eye and repeatedly in the stomach with a screwdriver and then beating him to death with a hammer.
Apparently one of the killers got out of prison in 2019. I imagine he’s probably dead by now, given that he was most likely conscripted.
Nah, the actress just sounds like she’s about to die every time she speaks because she’s been doing that voice for 40 years and she’s in her 70s now.
I can’t watch modern Simpsons. I’m sure there are really good episodes out there, but I just can’t listen to Marge’s voice anymore.
Just once I want to see a subversion of the trope where someone goes to another country/planet, and instead of the noble savage trope, they go home going “Oh yeah I’m never going back there, it sucks. I caught a rash where my entire arm turned a pinkish brown. Absolutely terrifying place”.
That, or they go to the other country, and are like “These savages are primitive, but they have PRIDE! They are a noble people!” and the natives aren’t even that different, they just have cassette tapes or use Betamax or HD-DVD. They’re sitting there watching Terminator or something and this guy is just freaking out. Oh! Oh the poor souls! Don’t they know that Blu Ray is the superior format?!
I never said when that time was, or how long that time was. Not my fault you spent the exactly 3 seconds of time you were always right having a wank instead of being productive with it.
Wish granted. For a time, you were always right. You aren’t anymore.
Apparently Playnite has a ITAD plugin you can use, but it’s limited to your wishlist, and doesn’t have an all-in-one browser, and it doesn’t look like it’s very well maintained.
Monopolies tend to be bad. The more my game library is on steam, the more fucked I am if my country decides to ban Steam for some reason or another, or the US decides to fuck everyone else over.
I wish GOG Galaxy and Playnite were good launchers. I don’t like Epic and I don’t like the stranglehold Steam has on the market. Basically I want a launcher where I can see all of my games, but I also want to be able to open as many stores as I want, and then be able to compare prices and then buy from each of those stores within the same launcher.

Just one more datacentre bro, just one more! One more and we get GenAI. 10,000 more layoffs and another datacentre! C’mon you know I’m good for it!
If only they could agree on what size Spheal is.
That look of shock better be because you forgot to prep!

So why do we need Jensen Huang?
Back when all screens were more-or-less the same size and nothing ever had to scale. Your UI was the size it was, and if your screen was too big, too bad! You can either stretch it and deal with the pixelly mess, or squint your eyes to see the teeeny tiny program.

What, is Google upset about having some competition?

Isn’t FFXIV an MMO? I don’t remember it being very Game of Thrones-y.

I’m of the opinion that it really depends on the nature of the game.
For example, the children are super hyped for GTA VI, because even though GTA V came out before some of them had object permanence, they’ve been playing it for years. It’s remained in their consciousness this entire time.
Compare that to Skyrim, which came out only a year or so before GTA V, and we haven’t seen an Elder Scrolls game since… The young don’t give a toss. They weren’t playing it then, they aren’t playing it now, so there’s absolutely no attachment to Elder Scrolls as a series.
Games used to stay in the consumer’s consciousness before by having sequels made every few years, sometimes even every year! Now? It’s all live services, so it doesn’t feel like the game hasn’t had a new iteration for over a decade.
In other words: Kids aren’t attached to franchises anymore because the game industry is stagnating.
It’s a very specific subset of neurodivergents, tbh. I don’t see much discussion around typically geeky topics. On Reddit, if I had a fleeting thought or question about a fictional world, I had /r/asksciencefiction. On the fediverse? No such board. The answer to that is “Oh just create it”, but I don’t have the time or the attention span to moderate such a place.
In other words “I’m going to take out a shitload of debt, buy your company with it, and then make YOU pay it off or go bankrupt. EIther way I win”
