There are better ones now. That is more of a shame fist. Where some middle age dad gets a little too adventurous when he has the house to himself for a night or two.

It gets used once, hard, and tossed out. While Dad tries to pretend that it isn’t in the trash when the kids get home.

Again - we love to think of ourselves as exceptions/not like others. It feels nice and it is nice when others notice our uniqueness.

But to answer your question - that a fringe ideology would so quickly become a required one. That an ideological system would so quickly sweep and change the culture. And that those opposed would be handled so rudely.

I had always participated believing that it was about acceptance. Only to find that it was mostly full of the same people who treated homosexuals poorly looking for their new acceptable punching bag.

I was sad - when I stood in the middle of city and realized I thing that I had stood up for over 30 years had been achieved. And that it had wholly transformed in the process and become something else. It surprised me, and bummed me out that I was wrong. And that it was not the good thing I once thought it was.

I held out hope - but I was foolish.

I had the realization that you really don’t have anything to say.
