Bye bye first amendment rights!
Certain things are OK to not have a political opinion on. Example: Taxes are complicated and most people don’t understand them; most probably want to pay less of them but do not really need to put their limited political energy to focusing on them.
That applies to most nonpolitical subjects too… most things to have an opinion on like food, movies, music whatever, are generally of little consequence.
Things that affect the base existence of large swaths of the population, aka human rights, are not something a living citizen can admit a “don’t care” opinion on. You either want to live free or you don’t, and having no opinion on such is how you end up without the legal right to any opinions…
The key to both is to have a complete information stream before forming any opinion or comitting to not having one. I do a nonzero amount of research even before writing a lot of comments here on Lemmy to make sure my facts are straight, and maybe 40% of the time discover it’s either not worth my time to write, or I was initially wrong and my comment shouldn’t be made.
ITS NOT A “JOKE” AND NEVER FUCKING HAS BEEN
??? i was talking about car engines? Hyundai’s Theta engine series has been cursed with design flaws and horrible machining quality for so many years now that I don’t really trust any of their vehicles enough to even consider switching to one.
Well that one has “accountability” in the name and Trump hates that word.
Now if only they could start building usable engines, it’d be great.
Looks like the bribes paid off, musky!
I’d bet they exempt it. The corporate grinder doesn’t really work without stimulants for the workers to purchase so they can work (and consume) more and sleep less.
It would be better to just give the voter a set of 6 lines, top to bottom, with rank 1 at top and rank 6 at bottom. That is the easiest to visualize and understand, and that’s also how almost all of the campaign information about RCV has shown it… Then have some way to identify each candidate to put on each line that’s not just hand writing the name. That I’m not 100% sure how to do. My engineer solution says create a lookup table with letters or numbers next to each candidate, but that could easily get confused with the rank in which to put them.
It’s not super hard to understand the concept, but the visual display of this implementation is objectively horrifying. No line or column delineation, just a grid of bubbles. I literally look at Excel sheets for a living and this makes my head hurt trying to keep track of what bubble is going where, I don’t blame voters for giving up on it.
It’s not that it would have changed anything, it’s about the message it sends regarding how voters really felt about the Democrats and the election in general. Sure it may have been “decided” by a few ten thousands in a few swing states but there was a huge nationwide collapse of support.
She’d be pretty hard-pressed to make her case.
Logic has never stopped any republican.
“Don’t escalate anything, we’ll have them crippled, starving and freezing by February and you can walk right in”
I’ve definitely moved plans to build a storage NAS and some smaller custom home automation electronic devices up to start before December.
Rub it in whydontcha
He cannot unless they’re convicted criminals.
Until the Republican swept house, senate and SCOTUS just unilaterally decide to change the law and allow deporting any “enemies of the state”. Who’s going to object lol?
Nothing in American law statue is concrete now that they hold every single key.
And the blue LED ring 'round the disk slot that doubled as an activity indicator. So cool.
Countdown until Chavez-DeRemer sues saying the election was stolen or that redistricting was gerrymandering in 3, 2, 1…
If enabling fascist means funny market number go up, they will do it.
