prison population is already being used as slave labor for the state and federal government, they’re not gonna give that up for free if they’re not benefiting somehow. That would involved the US government actually caring about its citizens and them not being victims (see the current state of crypto scams and its criminal prosecution). I also doubt any company would pay so that they can use prisoners since it would involve them spending even more.

So the pollution you see there doesn’t really come from industrialization, but from a lack of civic sense – people throw trash wherever they want – and a lack of moral consciousness, which allows them to scam others. The real problem in that country isn’t economic, but cultural. And you don’t want that mess in your country.

a lot of firms outsource customer service to India because its cheaper for them to operate. The same giant firms that spend billions lobbying politicians to make laws that work only for them so they can keep making money. Noble effort but this will literally never happen.

Not to be paranoid but I have a strange feeling that he’s not leaving after his term is over. This national guard thing might go wrong with people fighting against it then someone will get shot/die and it will be used as a way to gain even more control (like what happened in South Korea minus the better outcome). Or he is going to start a war as a way to stay in power.

they’ve said multiple times that they require email as a way to combat against their work being scrapped by bots and getting published elsewhere. They are a small team doing great work they need money to keep running. I don’t see what the issue is.

yes exactly, my problem is not the money. I don’t expect these project to always be free and I support those I can, sponsorship is good. These giant tech firms have used free projects all the time to make money without providing any support so its fine that they’re supporting them. My problem is that I do not trust Microsoft at all.

That’s true, I guess it does depend on your situation. 99% of the time for me I don’t need to be reach immediately.

I have one phone that I check every now and then to see if I missed anything. If anyone needs to reach me I’ll see it when I see it and get back to them if it actually is important. Work doesnt need me if I’m off the clock. Also have notifications off on every app except my bank (and texts and calls) I have never feel more calm. Everything wants your attention these days
