  • I love to hate on SAO

But that’s true of nearly all anime’s. They’re filled with plot holes, shitty power scaling, and nonsensical magic/science lore.

Turns out, having a culture of single authors writing weekly released manga and then rapidly turning them into anime to ride hype trains leads to some honestly terrible stories.

But its fun! We know they’re stories being told by really small teams if a team at all and they’re trying their best to entertain us.

Also, it’s a good way to see what you do and don’t like in any story. I’ve found hating on anime’s has taught me what I appreciate it something and then I stick to stories that do that well.

SAO taught me I love fantasy aesthetic anime’s but also that lone wolf angst gets old to me.

  • I knew a guy with the shittiest private island. He said it cost him $20,000 USD its in Canada, had enough room for a cabin that was just a shed with a queen mattress in it and a boat dock.

He showed me a video of him trying to enjoy it in summer and it was just CONSTANT heavy winds. He said he had to soundproof the cabin and goes there to read and write. If he wants to feel the wind he has to wear hearing protection and a jacket no matter the time of year.

I never thought I’d feel bad for someone who owns an island. Still first world problems galore, but $20k is very affordable for a piece of land.

  • The guntuber formula is pretty simple

Get something interesting to shoot. Shoot it.

This thing to shoot can be a gun or a target.

Crazy how far that gets you then it always devolves when they start getting money and it starts turning into

“Look how much money I have! I’m gonna shoot my private jet with my private tank!”

(Its never THAT BAD but I wanted non gun people to get the idea)

Matt’s content became a lot of look at my Gucci guns, my Gucci Truck, and my “poor mans mansion” let’s shoot stuff!

Also it’s crazy how many of his pictures with his dead brother in the memorial video where them in MAGA hats. That’s when I stopped watching.

  • I think its really hard for something like the Linux kernel project to look at AI from an economic and environmental aspect that doesn’t start asking hard questions about Linux itself.

AI for instance runs very well on Linux and almost certainly all of these hyperscalers and compute centers are running Linux in some form.

If Linus is going to take a hard stance on economic and environmental reasons, is he also going to ban these orgs from using Linux?

I don’t really want to do too much “what about” isms because I think it would be hella based to see the defense industry, oil industry, and AI industries all get a “fuck you figure it out on your own”. I’m just saying I can completely understand why Linus might not want to play that game since his greatest concern is to simply make sure Linux is getting better.
