  • Let me get this right. So, you know exactly who this man is and what he stands for. Yet, you elect him anyway. You know he’s been “joking” about this before. Yet, you elect him anyway. He’s a convicted felon. Yet, you elect him anyway.

I’ve lost every smidgen of respect I had for Americans. You went into this with eyes wide open. You deserve what’s coming.

60% of eligible voters didn’t vote. It can be debated if they are complacent or if party leadership didn’t Sufficiently motivate them to vote

Of the 40% eligible voters that did vote, 50% voted for trump and 48% voted for Harris.

So depending on how you look at it, 19% of eligible voters actively didn’t vote for Trump, or 20% of eligible voters actively voted for Trump.

We could also go on to say that, of those who voted for trump, there was a portion that was not informed which could partially be blamed on the media as well as party leaderships. Some of them are just in a cult mentality and while that doesn’t excuse their behavior, they are actively being manipulated. And then there are a bunch of voters who genuinely just want to watch the world burn.

I’m sure we could dissect this many ways, but i can can’t see how everyone deserves what’s coming. For example , I didn’t ask for this. I actively volunteered my time to try to prevent it. Yeah, a good chunk of Americans are idiots. But not all of us deserve what’s coming. Fuck that.

    • i read fairly regularly. 60-120 minutes per day
    • i like reading mostly nonfiction, generally textbooks or other learning material. I’ll also read whatever books my SO recommends, and whatever the current book is for a book club im in.
    • I’m young enough that ill be working the rest of my life and this means I’m just trying to learn new skills and hopefully be able to retire someday
    • I’ve gotten better over time. I set aside a dedicated block of time for distraction free reading. I make use of pomodoro timers to help stay focused.
    • economics 101: time is a scarce resource. It is limited in supply and everyone wants more. Be very intentional with your time. How you spend time naturally shows what you currently value. Maybe that means you will value reading, but maybe that means you will value something else. Think about what you spend time on says about you, and if you don’t like what something says then fix it.

  • Hey look, Mormon Jesus really did appear to Joseph Smith and told him to start a church and sell spots in heaven for any family that wed their daughter to him.

[My father] asked me if I would be sealed to Joseph … [Smith] said to me, ‘If you will take this step, it will ensure your eternal salvation & exaltation and that of your father’s household & all of your kindred.[’] This promise was so great that I willingly gave myself to purchase so glorious a reward.

    • Helen mar Kimball, who was 14 at the time they married.

Sounds all very legit, daughter for heaven. Mormon Jesus is just cool like that.

  • Edit. Doh. I misread as “i don’t get it” lol. I’m leaving it anyway for anyone who needs an explanation.

Trump won the US election. The republican plan for trumps presidency is project 2025. In project 2025 they treat women as third class citizens (men are first and fetuses are second). Of the many plans for women, project 2025 aims to use data to identify pregnant women in order to ensure fetuses aren’t aborted. Under project 2025 abortion is illegal, and miscarriages are treated as an abortion until proven that it was a natural miscarriage. The republican party has already started approaching period tracking apps for data, and this post is suggesting to pollute the data in period tracking apps with the idea of making it harder to identify missed periods due to pregnancy.

On a more practical note, however, individual’s tracking their periods should be using open source software to track periods instead to prevent a company from giving away your data.

  • The changelog shows that this section has been added sometime between Oct 30 (last version before Nov) and today. Some possibilities:

    1. disinformation to discourage the movement. I find this most likely given that “Trans” did not appear anywhere in the original article until this was politicized in the US. The updates between versions inserted anti-trans language in multiple places throughout the article.
    2. Or, if this is actually part of the SK movement, then I have not heard anything TERF related for the US movement. The US movement probably should rename or otherwise distinguish itself from that.

Either way, I do not think this should be a point to discredit the movement. It at minimum does not seem related to the US movement and IMO is likely some clever FUD attempt to undermine the movement before it gets traction.
