If app installation is not managed by Google (i.e. if you’re not using Google Mobile Services or GMS), Google cannot block the installation of any apps. Graphene’s devs have confirmed themselves that this new measure will not affect their ROM

It does not block anything by itself. I use Adguard as my DNS provider and it does that system-wide. It you can also use a VPN provider such as ProtonVPN that does it
For american standards, you’re basically a commie, lol
For the rest of the world, you would be center-left.
The thing that would push you farther to the left or back to the center would be economic issues: you’ve only talked about social issues, but what about the economy and government?
There are also some test online that place you on the political spectrum by asking you those kinds of questions, it might be worth checking them out.
OTOH, I kinda feel bad because you live in a place where there are only effectively 2 parties (right and far right), and chosing another one is going to waste your vote essentially. People like Sanders and AOC have a huge following, but they have no chance of success imho
It’s about surveillance. Federated services are not a threat to big tech since it’s so small
I’ll happily continue using my GrapheneOS Pixel since nothing will change for 3d-party ROMs :)
Try a good one such as Inoreader or NewsBlur, you’ll never look back
Ooh this is a good one, especially considering that in order to have a yacht you also have to hire a whole crew and pay for docking it.
It’s pretty sad that new and innovative companies only exist to get sold to big corporations these days. And I’m saying that as someone who did not like Arc
Kids don’t event know the folder struture of their Home directory, so why would they know what a File System is? Lol
You sure it’s HP? The circle in the front makes me think of Dell
Yep that’s pretty much how it went. Also print ads have lost against digital ads, which pay way less money to publishers and keep paying less each year
Do you know who Dan Harmon is? Creator of Community and Rick And Morty, IMHO a genius. He had a live podcast named Harmontown where he improvised a history lesson and he came up with this
It explains it all in a more convincing way than any historian could, imho. Besides being funny, he has a deep understanding of what makes humans tick and that’s the whole point of how fascism happens
Graphene OS does something similar. It sandboxes GMS like any other app
See? You’re still seeing AI as if it was human or if it was comparable to a human, and that’s the issue. Would you make the same statement about… Idk, cloud computing of photo editing tools? AI is just a technology, it does not “grow” into anything by itself and it’s neither good or bad intentioned, and that’s because it does not have any intentions
The worry about “Alignment” and such is mostly a TESCREAL talking point (look it up if you don’t know what that is, I promise you’ll understand a lot of things about the AI industry).
It’s ridiculous at best, and a harmful and delirious distraction at worst.
Nope, they mostly learn during training
IDK, at least that was useful for gaming etc. AI is mostly about eliminating jobs
Even after it’s been sold to a Chinese company?
Yeah, it’s a moving target for sure. For now, the devs seem to be very certain that AOSP will stay and that they will still be able to port GOS on new devices (although it will take more time and work).
