It took a while to get into, dying over and over is common. However it’s VERY fun. I think I’ve sunk 200+ hours into it already and I’m nowhere near finished with it.

Tim (the player) is likely the villain. His quest was never about saving the princess but about his own selfish desire to reclaim something/someone that no longer wants him. The game masterfully subverts expectations, making players reflect on perspective, responsibility, and consequences.

Riders Republic wasn’t for me, primarily due to the controls. Having just come from Descenders, the control philosophy felt so vastly different that I couldn’t adjust. It never stopped feeling like a struggle, which was a shame.
