Dorohedoro Season 2 OP: “Zettai MUST Danmen” by (K)NoW_NAME - The style! The energy!

Dr. Stone: Science Future Part 3 ED: “ROCKET” by BURNOUT SYNDROMES - Aside from pleasant visuals, my favourite part of this theme is BURNOUT SYNDROMES returning to perform the final ending (it is final, right?) as they opened the show with “Good Morning World!”

Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!! OP: “Shunpatsu-teki ni Koishiyou” by Yasuyuki Okamura & Kento Nakajima - I like the comic style and the colours.

Dandelion ED: “Goron to Doron” by Kocchi no Kento - The most addictive theme for me this season. It’s silly fun, and the way the characters move with straight faces keeps sending me. I demand more themes with male characters dancing silly dances in suits.

Kirio Fanclub ED: “Harmony” by Ako - I love how simple this ED is: just Nami and Aimi going home after school at the end of each episode. And the song is perfect for dancing on the riverbank with your bestie I wish it were me (it just made me jump around my room like a lunatic when I listened to it the first couple of times).

Kirio Fanclub Episode 2 Insert Song - they wrote a whole song dedicated to Kirio-kun, and its dai-dai’s are really addictive; I keep humming it at times.

Kujima OP: “Komorebizaka” by Galileo Galilei - I was born with a gene that makes it impossible for me to dislike a Galileo Galilei song.

The thing about Yomi no Tsugai themes is that I like when yama performs the OP and Vaundy performs the ED. I really hope they switch in the second half of the show.

    Mid-seasonal check-in

I dropped a bunch of shows and now I’m left with a measly third of what I usually watch in a season.

Dorohedoro Season 2 will most likely end up as my AOTS.

Dr. Stone: Science Future Part 3 - I’m not content with the pacing of this season and watching purely to see the mystery behind Why-man.

Go For It, Nakamura-kun!! continues to be a fun watch. It’s so stylish, and all the characters are entertaining. Chiaki Kobayashi is delivering my favourite voice acting performance of the season.

Kirio Fanclub sometimes misses on the joke delivery as the scene drags out but still manages to make me laugh most of the time. I’m rooting for Nami, but with Kirio’s depression out of the bag I really want Aimi to be there for the guy and just make him laugh. Does any source reader know if one season will be enough to cover the whole story?

The Ramparts of Ice - In terms of character writing this show is the best this season. I don’t like the ongoing Koyuki and Youta shipping; they have such a great platonic dynamic, and that’s the reason Koyun feels relaxed around Youta. I hope the author is just making a commentary on how it goes with people when they see a boy and a girl being friends. Personally, I prefer Koyun and Minato as a ship purely for the sake of good character development; that boy is in dire need of one.

Kujima - I thought I’d drop it by now, but it grew on me. The way Kujima speaks is kind of endearing. Arata imitating Kujima’s speech is especially cute, because it shows his love for that loud, annoying creature.

Witch Hat Atelier - as a source reader I’m just admiring the animation and how cool the magic looks in the show. I’ve come to realize, however, that I’m not particularly fond of any Witch Hat character.

  • Finally done with Nana. It’s among my least favourite non-seasonal watches of 2026. I liked the first half much, much more than the second one, which I struggled to finish. Character introductions and Nana and Hachiko’s friendship development were fun to watch, but when Takumi appeared and THE THING happened the story just reached the peak of annoyance for me. Hachiko’s taste in men is diabolical; she was cursed by the Great Demon Lord.

    Spring 2026

I won’t be sticking with Agents of the Four Seasons. It’s not my kind of drama. I don’t vibe with tormented characters, whose sadness permeates the story and their whole being. It came as no surprise as I only finished Violet Evergarden because of Kyoani. As for Ascendance of a Bookworm, I’ll be switching to the manga for now, since I don’t do well with light novels. The studio change didn’t bring any noticeable improvements after all. Also dropped Akane-banashi after the second episode. I liked the first one, but the shounen-jumpy treatment of rakugo in the second one put me off. I’d rather re-watch Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu.

Nippon Sangoku - Liked the second episode a bit less than the premiere, but the art direction is still very entertaining, though the camera movement gave me an eye strain this time. Can’t say much of the story so far. Seems like it mixes violence and humour in a similar vein to Golden Kamuy, however I don’t expect it to turn out as iconic.

Kirio Fanclub - Every episode starts a bit boring, then doubles down on Aimi and Nami’s antics to finally end with a hint of some hidden drama, which makes me want to come back each week.

Always a Catch! - Should’ve been a double-episode premiere as the second episode better showed the compelling sides of Mimi and Renato. I knew watching Mimi was going to be fun when I saw her brass knuckles hair ornament.

Witch Hat Atelier - I’m really not vibing with Qifrey’s VA. It might be a worse miscast than Okarun for me, after all. I feel bad it happened twice; Natsuki Hanae is great.

Gals Can’t Be Kind to Otaku!? - Charming character design, likeable cast. In terms of trio dynamic and otaku culture so far I prefer this one to Pardon the Intrusion, I’m Home!

The Ramparts of Ice - Visually, it’s not as fun as Polar Opposites, and I wished they chilled down on the chibi style as its over-usage quite annoyed me in Senpai wa Otokonoko, but I like its angle of character-driven drama. Story-wise, I might eventually prefer The Ramparts of Ice to Polar Opposites.

My Ribdiculous Reincarnation - The first episode was rather fun. Guess I’ll wait and see how fast the joke runs thin.

Botan Kamiina Fully Blossoms When Drunk - Enjoyed the premiere. The alcohol part is of no interest to me, but the atmosphere of dorm life and the development of new relationships look compelling. I’ll give it a few more episodes.
