If you haven’t tried already, highly recommend you get it: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2909110/Nuclear_Nightmare/ Currently ~1€

You’re a scientist trying to document what happened in a very The Thing-esque setting. You have a limited amount of time to collect data and summon a rescue. When the night falls, there will be trouble, especially if you didn’t manage to find equipment.

The interface is quite janky in the menu and the tutorial is almost useless but the game itself is very fun and scary. Don’t cheat with out of game voice coms: the soundscape in the game is supposed to make communication hard and on the other hand, you often hear things before you see things. Also, your friends may turn on you…

If you plan to play with friends only, you need to toggle private lobby ON as it’s public by default and it’s leading to some frustration with people trying to join public lobbies and getting kicked because the host doesn’t want randoms. On Reddit people are saying they’ve so far had mostly good experiences with joining publics though. The game is playable alone too but definitely best with friends.

It’s still EA and it’s by a small team but it works well and any glitches can be seen as features in most cases if you aren’t some super serious power gamer (just learn to embrace the chaos). I really hope to see it ironed out and developed further.

    Thanks for sharing.

Might have to try this, it’s basically free in my region.

The concept sounds awesome, but it seems the implementation needs some work.
