    • Heated Rivalry
    • Pluribus
    • Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian
    • Culinary Class Wars S2

Funny enough, if you’ve watched 1 and 3 above, the latest episode of Heated Rivalry is basically “Ilya Sometimes Hides His Feelings in Russian”.

Pluribus is so good! Although the last couple episodes have been a little slow. I wonder how they are going to wrap the season up

    Started Murderbot because it’s short.

It’s silly. The humor’s a bit shitpost-y. VFX work is top notch. Enjoying it so far.

A lot of old movies, Pluribus, but I want to mention one movie:

All is Fine in 89. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt30096544/

This movie has a fairly high rating, the reviews mentioned Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Dazed and Confused, two movies I really enjoy so I was fairly excited when I read that. Watching it was a different matter, the characters had no dimension at all and half hour into it I still didn’t know half their names or care to, there was no discernible plot at all, it felt more like a simulation of high school in the 80’s than a movie. Avoid.

Rise + Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

    And then Avatar 3.

I will say, its a shame I watched those 3 in that order. Sure, Avatar is known for its motion capture CGI filming techniques, but I think the Planet of the Apes movies were more impressive in that regard.

That being said (minor spoilers for Avatar 3 below)

    Title

There were 2 clips where a Naavi AND a human climbs over a barrier. (They actually did it twice in that fight scene. Makes me think that James Cameron did that on purpose JUST to show off) That made me fully DiCapiro Point at Screen. Like how was that done so seamlessly? Rather sad I noticed that near the end of the movie.

Plan to go back and rewatch JUST to look at those small details like that.

Watched the new Knives Out movie last night. It was very good, much better than the disappointing second installment.

Culinary Class Wars S02E01. It starts so annoying slow. I would recommend skipping the first episode if you are interested in watching the series.

Season one was much better as far as I remember.
