      That’s just bullshit. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walmart#/media/File:WalMart_international_locations.svg In the blue countries they’re active in red ones formerly active. They have even been active in Germany for a while.

        Statistically speaking, he’s not far off. US, Canada and Mexico have about 9k stores. The entire rest of the world have about 2k stores. So it’s not unreasonable that most people have never seen a Walmart in their life.

          Yes, they are a lot less ubiquitous outside North America. The person you’re referring to said they don’t exist outside CA and USA, which is incorrect. They’re not as common, but they do exist.

      For Brits: Walmart bought ASDA in 1999. It’s sold most of it since then but still has a 10% stake.
