Well, and Chicago literally invented the political machine. It has a very deep rooted history of corrupt politics. Even is nickname “the windy city” is based on its politicians.
Unfortunately the culture of corruption runs so deep here that even our progressive politicians are subject to it.
Consercatives equate bigger numbers mean more crime. They don’t look at per capita or any other metric. Obviously the 3rd largest city in the US will have a higher number of crimes. There are just more people. Chicago doesn’t even break the top 10 of most any crime cities in the US.
I know where crime per capita is totally out of control. In and around the immediate vicinity of 1600 Pennsylvania.
