The White House has launched another taxpayer-funded television ad before the midterms, this time featuring imagery of President Donald Trump walking down a hall as audio plays of him saying “this is the final battle.”

“We will cast out the communist, Marxists, and fascists. We will throw off the sick political class that hates our country. We will rout the fake news media, and we will liberate America from these villains once and for all,” Trump says in the ad, echoing comments he made during a Veterans Day speech in 2023.

They have convinced the moronic masses that the communists are equivalent to fascists, and they have convinced the masses that anyone not MAGA is a communist. They even started rounding up brown people, some of whom have died and/or will never see their families again. They’re builting concentration camps. It’s just more abuse of words to rob them of their meaning, plus muddying the political waters for the stupid, who tend to support them while thinking “communist” and “fascist” are just words for “baddie”.

The white supremacists believe in the coming race war, this is what the “boogaloo” community is about.

It’s actually pretty scary because they have been chomping at the bit to get started and they are the only side ready to go at a moments notice and they are EXCITED TO DO SO

It’s not. The people with the authority to do anything about it either won’t or can’t. You’re First Amendment rights are worth 2¢ in a trillion dollar economy. While the 2A was supposedly written to be the follow-up, it has basically the same effect.

The Republicans in Congress could stop all of this at any time. They choose not to. They support it, even if they say otherwise.

Trump will be Trump, but we need to direct our anger at the rest of his party as well, for not holding him accountable. I hope enough people realize this in November.

The Supreme Court established that the President cannot be held accountable for any conduct (as part of his Official Duties) by anyone except through impeachment. So the President can break any law, as long as 1/2 the House (or 1/3 of the Senate) agrees to let it slide.

Weimar Republic had seven year terms and no limit. These guys were too incompetent and wasted their first term and can’t balance breaking everything vs making too many voters mad before this last midterms. They basically have a month left to do or die before people get elected who will hold them accountable prevent them from running completely rampant.

They’re rushing it cuz they fail to form it properly, I get the feeling the internet has made the old facist takeover playbook obsolete since evidence of crimes is documented and shared more quickly and people act against it faster and in a more organized fassion then these groups can deal with.

For him, it is the final battle. He is one bad election away from jail and he is on track to lose. Decent Americans (yes, they exist) just need to show up this time.

Unrealistic. He is one ‘bad’ election away from being somewhat inconvenienced by having to just always explicitly ignore congress and do whatever he wants without repercussions. If GOP wins as few as three of the senate races that happen, he’s 100% safe from the only consequence considered valid: removal from office.

No criminal prosecution, that’s already established as ‘not applicable’ by the supreme court, on top of the long standing policy of not holding a president currently in office accountable for anything.

In 2028, ok, maybe he could face consequences in theory if all the mechanisms actually work. Very skeptical, and even if he could, it moves at a snail’s pace and they’ll probably run him again in 2032 because they don’t have any better ideas.

This just happened to Hungary’s Trump, Viktor Orban. Before the election, everyone said an ouster of Orban was unrealistic.

Personally, I think the USA is no longer a democracy and that the game is over. Americans meekly put rings through their noses and tied themselves to a fascist dictatorship. After all that tough-guy cosplay with the guns and ‘don’t tread on me’ and ‘muh freedumb!!’, it turns out Americans are either fascists or little bitches.

However, I would be thrilled to be proven wrong.

I don’t know about Hungary, but it’s hard to imagine GOP turning on Trump when they have basically bet it all on Trump.

The argument against convicting on January 6th was evidently “let the criminal justice system take care of it and avoid putting ourselves at odds with his fanatics”.

I suspect they similarly might be hoping for his health to catch up to him and take care of the problem without pissing off Trump fans.

I suppose they might throw Trump, Hegseth, Miller and Patel under the bus to try to give Vance some run up to 2028 and scapegoat the “bad apples” and pivot to a claimed image of some respectable, responsible party… But it seems a long shot… Vance was still very deep on on this bullshit, but most people probably are oblivious to that…

And therein lies the problem. The decent Americans are too misinformed by the polls, they’ll complacently stay at home. That, or they’re too lazy and arrogant to vote for anyone but their ideal candidate, they’ll sit it out as a show of virtue posturing.

We should probably be in a general strike, but no one wants to fuck over their existing life on the hopes that it’ll just get fixed int he next election. Check back after the midterms, but don’t hope for much to change.

This is a “dog whistle” plea to Christians, in my opinion. The final battle refers to The Apocalypse, when Christians are rescued by the Army of Jesus Christ. After all of the Christians are safe, Jesus and His Holy Army will butcher every non-Christian on the face of the Earth, and the resulting ocean of blood will be as “deep as a horse’s bridle”. (this is clearly described in the Bible).

Fun fact: Churches pay no taxes! They get tax benefits that are over and above any “non-profit”. So, we all finance and enable this tripe. Not only do we pay for this moronic ad, we shoulder the burden for churches, mosques, and temples.

These faiths are already unfathomably wealthy. The Catholic Church owns more land than any other organization, something like 170 million acres.
