No one in the rest of the world gives a fuck anymore what the US calls things. We have well and truly moved on.

    Fucking clowm show

  • If Biden using an autopen is enough grounds to invalidate something, then letting AI slobber all over it to the point where it misspells the name of the fucking country sure as hell is.

Also, did Greg have his kid sign the thing? It looks like it should be written in crayon

You don’t spellcheck important documents with worldwide significance.

I quadruple check my food order for typos.

    We are not the same.

muckerberg convinced trump it was his own idea, but the renaming to attempt to shed baggage is facebook’s playbook and the reason you’re discussing this as “meta”. It’s not meta, it’s facebook. The same company that did cambridge analytica and drives kids to end their lives after being tortured by predatory algorithms.

That’s all this is. An attempt to direct you away from those previous headlines. They will immediately chafe it in all their surfaces. “Sure, AI maybe had some problems, but thankfully superslop is something completely different”

Next up is guessing what new term they’ll use for data centers… “Logistics hubs” maybe? LHs enable “buy one get one” on a medium pizza hut pizza, every month, to every forward thinking person in that same zip code. Wow! #WereInThisTogetherDawg

“If we misspell the name of the country, then we can say it doesn’t count when it becomes a problem for us” is probably the toddler-level sovereign citizen logic going on here

Well, even that they fucked up - they should have used all caps for their personal names! 🤣

But maybe they signed it in a room with a flag that had a fringe on it!

      Pretty sure thats the plan.

The other choice is that Trump was so eager to look like he gave a fuck, thought everyone else was a dumbass, saw the issue and knew Fox news and his supporters wouldn’t report about it before the election.

He is super eager to get re-elected.

Is this like where the sovereign citizens declare any id with your name in ALL CAPS is not “really” you but a corporation and something something maritime law?

If they don’t even spell the country right, I’m assuming it’s even less meaningful than it already was? Which was not at all?

probably had AI generate the form. Gonna be real funny when the AI regulating the market does a little oopsy doopsy decimal hallucination.

S and D are next to each other on a keyboard, ai doesn’t make typos like that.

I assumed AI would make typos like that if it were trained on the prose of millions of idiots who also make typos like that.

Reddit / forums are not the sole source of AI training, there’s also huge swaths of books, magazines, academic content, news articles, etc. LLMs are also designed to deal with typos, if 97% of people spell it “United” and 3% spell it “Unites” given that context / surrounding text, it’ll handle it.

I wish LLMs made that kind of mistake. Maybe then people wouldn’t have started blindly trusting them almost immediately.

If AI mis-spells one word enough, it will think THAT is the correct spelling and keep mis-spelling it AND auto-correct your spelling.

Then, much later, it will be put into the dictionary as the mis-spelled word.

Then the spelling will be correct. AI is playing the long game.
