Solid shitpost. My first reaction was anger for the poor dog.

Then I realized there are no airbags or crumple zones, the driver isn’t wearing a seatbelt and car pobably doesn’t even have one available. The driver is also likely three martinis into his day already and so are most of the other drivers on the road with him. The dog might be actually safer than anyone else here.

Right. The dog is well restrained by a flexible sack. Much better than hitting the steering wheel at 40 MPH, when the car careens into an oak tree.

Fairly, the speeds and interconnectivity of the states may have facilitated a safer ride for the pup. That being said safety was largely a third concern over innovation and uniqueness

Looks like one goes through a door handle and those clamps holding the piece of wood to the car may keep them from rising enough to come out. Still not something I’d do though.

Depends on the dog. Romneys dog shat all over the top of his car. This led to the urban dictionary entry.

Think about how easy it most be to get a large dog into a sack, that you then have to move and attach to a car.

So much easier than just having the dog sit in the back seat!

What problem did this solve? Cause I know which ones it creates…

People didn’t think about car safety at all.

A couple of decades before the one in the picture, it actually wasn’t a problem. And despite everybody knowing some people that died in an accident by the picture time, nobody connected the dots.
